Full Disclosure

[Updated on 5/12/2021] I’ve been asked a lot of questions about my VW’s over the years. My website serves as a way to say “read this” so that I don’t have answer the same questions every day. This includes in discussion forums, where someone might ask a question such as “Which cargo liner do you recommend?” or “How do you install a hitch?” I usually answer these questions and include a link to my site for more reading and details. I share fewer links these days because I joined the Amazon Affiliate program in February 2018. This is my full disclosure about what visiting my website does for my wallet.

Full Disclosure:  Visiting my website and reading its pages does not generate any revenue. There are no advertisers or donation links on my site. In fact, I prefer the clean look of ad-free pages and pay to keep my site that way. However, clicking certain links on my website may help support it. I’m an avid Amazon shopper and have no qualms about linking visitors to the exact products that I own in order to save them research time. As an affiliate, I get a few pennies from any purchase made as a result of my links (at no cost to my visitors).

I’ve reviewed several products on this website, as well as on my YouTube channel. I bargain-shop like other shoppers and I pay for all the products I feature, with few exceptions that are identified, through whatever source gives me the best deal, be it Amazon, the manufacturer, or other online outlets. I share freely about the products without any external input. That kind of independence allowed me to share my negative experiences with a Rhino Rack fairing and my Yakima Showcase 15 cargo box. My reviews will always be thorough, honest, and unaffected by vendors or manufacturers. My goal is to share what I’ve learned, to be helpful, and (hopefully) to provide interesting content to fellow VW enthusiasts.

For the record, Amazon’s commissions to me are sufficient to cover the cost of maintaining this website. For that, I THANK YOU! In short, I have no need to click-bait anyone, nor am I interested in making this site my full-time job.  I like to write and I like for my efforts to be seen and appreciated. But I won’t sell space on my website or compromise the integrity of my reviews to get that. Now you know what this site does for me. What does it do for you?

Still Paying My Own Bills,

Scott

I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of all your write-ups. Your site is a constant inspiration, both in how I’ve approached building my own GTI and how I approach thinking about and making decisions on all different matters of everyday life.

On behalf of all the lurkers, thank you! And congratulations on 30K!

I saw your car at Hamcation 2023. It wasn’t until after the fact that I realized I had seen a lot of your videos on YT. Still impressed by your install although my truck install will never look like that (2022 Freightliner). Keep the content coming and I will continue to consume!

Hey, thanks for posting! I recently split my website and gave my ham content its own place. Check out KE4WMF.com for more. I still have video ideas in the works, but must admit that I’m no longer posting new videos every week. I’ll create new content soon. Take Care!
