Scott, this is a great article. I hope you are enjoying your mobile HF setup. Curt – N6ATC

Thanks for the note, Curt! I do enjoy it, although it doesn’t stay on the car anywhere near full-time. It’s been off the car for a while because I’m behind on my QSL card duties. I treat sending QSL’s like debt: When I owe, I stay off the air (where I accumulate “debt”) until I’m caught up. 😉 I have new cards and need to format some mailing labels to implement an idea. 73, Scott

Tnx for the article.. Info on aluminum spacer block such as manufacture.. Tnx Ed K8ZZ

    • Scott says:

Thanks for writing, Edwin! The aluminum spacer is by Breedlove Mounts. I’ve added that detail to this write-up, as well as info about my W8UZZ caphat. Unfortunately, Breedlove Mounts no longer makes the spacer. The good news, though, is that it really isn’t necessary for bolting the antenna to a ball mount. 73, Scott

Thanks for taking your time writing your experience with the different antennas you have used. I want to move to HF in my mobile rigs and want to buy a great product that others have had great experiences. Thank you for your service, our country and I appreciate it.

Thanks for the note, Don! I don’t think I’ve shared an article about my new caphat by W8UZZ. I will make a video soon, which usually compels me to write a blog post. In fact, I need to add something about the FT-891 that I installed recently. I’m also on the verge of installing a TuneMatic autotuner that’s compatible with the Scorpion. Take Care!
